Congratulations to Colette and our incredible music students for their outstanding achievement in qualifying for the Waltons National Finals at the National Concert Hall on April 8th! With only six schools selected to participate, this is a remarkable accomplishment for our talented students and dedicated staff members. We are thrilled to announce the release of our latest video project, embracing the theme “Music Moves.” With a wide-open canvas to explore, we embarked on a journey depicting how music guides us through the spectrum of human emotions, from grief to happiness. Our presentation features a poignant selection of musical pieces, starting with Bill Whealan’s emotionally charged lament, “Caoineadh Cu Chulainn,” which vividly portrays the tragic tale of Cu Chulainn’s inadvertent act of filicide. Transitioning seamlessly, we showcase the patriotic fervor of our national anthem, performed with passion by our talented students. Concluding our performance, we delve into the heartfelt strains of a Solomon Island lullaby, before culminating in an uplifting dance track symbolizing the unity and spirit of our community.

Our submission reflects the values of diversity, fusion, student leadership, and inclusion, as emphasized by the judges. Regardless of the outcome, the journey of creating this video has been enriching for all involved, providing our students with valuable learning experiences and a platform for creative expression.
