What is LCA?
The Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) is an Irish education program that is an alternative to the traditional Leaving Certificate (LC) program. It is designed for students who may have different educational and career goals.
A Practical focus
Our LCA program places a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on learning experiences. It is designed to prepare students for employment, further education, or training after graduation
Assessment
Instead of the traditional Leaving Certificate exams, LCA students are assessed through a combination of coursework, projects, practical tasks, and a final examination. This assessment method is intended to better reflect real-life skills and abilities.
Work Experience
Work experience is a significant component of the LCA program. Students are required to complete work placements to gain practical work skills and experience.
